I believe you regarding the Tamiya's releases, the error's noted on the inital release were very clear as far to short in length, wrong exhausts etc, nodody in any scale has done the 2 stage engine naccelles correctly, I photgraphed them at the mossie musuem on the B35 aircraft and there are some very distinct shapes seen on the engines that have been done very badly by aftermarket companies.

I'll take your word for that Mike, I'm one of those people who really can't see dimensional errors until I see diagrams of the discrepancies.. I put it down to my total inability to draw well anything! ..

I appear to have a mind that simply doesn't see shapes that well

I think I must be the perfect embodiment of the phrase, "well it looks close enough", its not that I don't care , its just that I simply can't see what the fuss is about usually!

if you look at the HK web site you will see the B35 in the main picture, that is the aircraft I photographed and was given permission to crawl in side the cockpit to take pictures sadly the cockpit is not complete with a little damage to some items and several parts missing, I was able to remove the cockpit top hatch and now understand why so many aircrew burned trying to get out of them, no wander they were supplied with an axe.

because I prefer 1/24 scale no other reason, I very much doubt that Airfix will do the bomber version or the 2 stage merlins which means I would have to try and do it myself, which as you know is not an easy task.

The differences between the fighter/FB and bomber/PR put it beyond minor tweaks. Certainly adding two stage engines is less of a change.

I think that we may see the NF. II from Tamiya next year, but beyond that possibly a NF. XIII/XIX or FB. XVIII are the only minimum change variants we would be likely to see. The bomber nose does lend itself to a much greater variety of options.

Tamiya Mosquito expected mid-August according to the importer.

Back to the subject of the thread but is it just me who thinks that the leading edges of the wings and tails are far too thick resulting in them being very rounded unlike the very thin leading edge seen on the real aircraft?

Any thoughts on this welcome.

Matt.
