markjames68
Its not a 1 peice fuselage, its 2 peices, split at the strengthening band near the TE of the wing, due to the shape, no tooling in the world could create that shape in injection moulding Edited November 15, 2014 by markjames68
Mike
I would love to see the tooling for that one piece nose and fuselage section. Looked great at Telford.. I bet it looks like one of those little Transformers It took a minute for it to sink in when Dave said "it's a two part fuselage". I'm going to blame the drugs, but when it did finally get through my thick head, I was mightily impressed.
Radleigh
Mark, Top left hand of this photo (Not sure why I never took a photo tbh!) There is a nose section and rear fuselage, all one piece? One of them was on a sprue too.. IPMS Scale Model World 2014 by Totallyrad.co.uk, on Flickr
elger
here are the sprue shots on LSM that show the 1-part nose and tail section http://forum.largescalemodeller.com/topic/3096-132-mosquito-bomber-sprue-shots/
Caution Wake Turbulence
I think what Mark means is that the whole fuselage (nose included) is not one piece. Still impressive though! Andrew
hacker
From the pics l saw of the sprue the fuselage is made of four halves. Could a Fighter version coming too? Makes sense as the forward fuselage it totally different including where the entry hatch is. Have to wait and see. Silverstone 2
Does look good! I liked the Airfix 1/24 version a lot too, although slightly too big when finished as it's a twin. 1/32 Version looks like a must, also looks to be much more detailed than the Airfix version. Nice idea on the canopy internal frames. I really hope HK release the Lancaster also, was hoping for it, this year . I have their amazing B-17G and there Do-335 still awaiting build

I did enjoy the Airfix 1/24 Version a great deal. Maybe again?

I have their amazing B-17G and there Do-335 still awaiting build Sorry I think molding the Throttle assembly and all the interior boxes on the port side of the cockpit a backward step, the Airfix Mossie's only glaring problems in the Cockpit is the throttle torque tubes behind the seats and too many ejection marks, also the internal canopy framing is much better represented in the Airfix Kit imo

andrewfl290
I agree with Rob, the moulded on detail is a backwards step, so far the pictures I have seen are not selling this one to me. I will have to wait to see this kit for real before I decide to buy one.
Simon Cornes
I have a passing interest in this kit only because I have an old Revell kit converted into an FBVI last century but I must say, given the likely cost. it would have been better to at least have the throttle box as a separate assembly and the pilot's seat looks a bit odd to me. I really hope those ejector marks go in production examples unless you get a free tube of Green Stuff with every kit!! But maybe, being wooden, the real thing had a lot of round access panels? Shar2
They're not access panels Simon, they are ferrules onto which equipment/fittings were attached.

Shar2
There were a lot Simon, they're completely missing in the Airfix kit.
