All we have to do now is fix it to the fuselage..............

A hole was cut out on the bottom of the fuselage and a wooden frame with a screw attached.......

The turret was then pushed into the hole and screwed up tight................

here's what it looks like so far......

I took the turret off and added the detail ...................

chinturretbeforepainting1_zps1bfb1240.jp

...as you can probably see I use all sorts of materials to scratch build (the earth insulation cable for example).....

and here is the turret after painting ...........

Hi Fozzy, just found your build thread, great work and reminds me of the days when I built balsa models. Very satisfying carvin nacells etc. Thanks for sharing your pics.

I cut a fairing out of plastic card ready to glue around the turret................

and finally here it all is done and dusted.....having it screw attached the turret swivels .....unfortunately the 50 cals don't work :wicked:

Super stuff, particularly impressed by the vacforming set up. You make it sound easy but I bet its not. I have done a bit myself but not at anything like this scale.

Hi Nigel....your right its not easy as you know....so much easier in a smaller scale....like I said it took me about 3 attempts before I was satisfied !!!

ITS NOW TIME TO START ADDING THE INTERIOR DETAIL.......This is the bit I really like doing!

We start with the Bombardiers platform just above the chin turret.

Most of the internal structure is made out of plastic card.................

Here are more photos of the eternal floor structure....can you spot that the internal side walls are made out of plastic yogurt pots....so much cheeper than plastic card !!...the observant of you will notice that the wood paneling has been ripped off!! this is due to a mistake I made  .........

Things look so much better in colour don't they?....this next lot of pics are of more floors and the bulkhead between the Bombardier/Navigator station and the access tunnel under the cockpit floor.

Just to let you know that I am building all the detail in the bottom half of this model then I'll do the top half and finally glue the two halves together.......one day!!!!

Brilliant work! You make it look so easy, Fozzy - "Hmmm, I have a free afternoon, what ever shall I do - I know, I'll scratchbuild a 1:1 Bf-110C out of toothpicks and some soda cans".

Regards,

Jason
