Madmonk
Remember the Clangers with great affection. Not sure how you can spend £5m remaking it though! Don, on the history front my kids loved Horrible Histories, though Potty Time is difficult to beat. Cheers, Warren
Pete in Lincs
And Square world was good too. Who can forget the Chinese junk on the Thames! The man was a genius. If you can, Find his book, The door marked Summer. Pete
roymattblack
£5m..... That's an awful lot of wool........... As it happens, I've spoken to Peter Firmin many times over the recent years regarding Ivor the Engine. Peter and Oliver (Postgate) probably never spent £1m, let alone £5m in a lifetime, in the 20+ different worlds they created for TV. Most of their programs were made in either Peter or Oliver's shed, or spare room. How things change. Roy. GreenDragon
I always remember how we were losing the Battle of Waterloo until that Panzer division turned up in the nick of time! Potty Time really brought history alive! Paul Harrison

It started through a business deal over Ivor the Engine - I have a licence to make Garden-rail scale model kits of Ivor: http://www.rail-roadmodels.co.uk The last time I spoke to him he wasn't very well. I'll have to try to catch up with him. I've heard nothing about the rediscovered episodes though, other than it was actually 26 unseen episodes that were found!!! Roy. Fea
Ayup Roy... 26 ! He He He... The old Grey cells are succumbing to too much Cellulose Vapour I think. 26 is so so much better than 5 too. I'll go with them.
