Italian Warbirds part 2

Recommended Posts

Dear all, the second Italian Warbird is the Fiat G55 "sottoserie 0".

The Special Hobby kit represents one of the very first G55 enterd in service in late spring 1943. The main characteristic of the first group of G55 delivered was the absence of the two 20mm cannons in the wings. Instead they had 4 12.7 mm machine guns mounted two above and two below the engine. This arrangement was not the best and quite soon the two guns below the engine were removed and replaced with tho more conventional cannons in the wings.

The kit is quite challenging and requires a lot of patience, especially for the landing gear...

Model has been painted with airbrush using Tamiya acrylics.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers

Andy
