Speedman
Started life as a prebuilt half plastic, half metal display model. I removed the nose guns and turrets, filled in those areas and sanded down the rear dorsal glazing. I also detailed and painted the cockpit but not a lot can be seen through the canopy, at least I know it's there. Finished in the fictional colours and markings of "East Coast Fire Dogs". (My first home printed decals) I checked the FAA website and N-426FD is not currently registered, 426 (A26) FD (Fire Dogs). Never let it be said that I don't go a bit daft with these ideas

Alpino
beautiful! as a teacher I worked many summers here in MT on fire crews & loved watching the many Cold War birds now fire fighters something poetic in that, I'm an old paratrooper kinda bird saw a few of these A-26s early on, & a ton of P2V Neptunes, some using their jets, some C-119s in HS in 1974 before I was on crews, saw a Ford Tri-Motor out of Missoula, they cut down to one motor for an easier jump There are a ton of old planes used for fire fighting in Greybull WY, worth a visit alas they breakup sometimes doing these new battles nowadays they use huge old airliners, saw a Lockheed TriStar, & 747s have got the slurry on me many times! "up close & personal" thanks for the memories STILL trying to find a military 1/144 A-26 that doesn't cost $100 gotta throw this in ! https://www.museumofflight.us/aircraftgalleries.html Edited July 19, 2022 by Alpino
