Fuad
Good afternoon, colleagues! This aircraft during the Second World War was really bombed Oregon, USA. The plane took off from the deck of the submarine. He wanted to cause massive fires. He certainly did not work out, but at least he tried))). Model from Fujimi in 1/72 scale was updated with seat belts and antenna cable. I using only board numbers from decals and everything else was painted (like on all of my models of Japanese aircraft. All of small pictures are clickable. Please enjoy! Edited October 5, 2013 by Fuad

Séan Pádraig
I don't claim to be an expert when it comes to WW2 aircraft but over the years I have picked up a thing or two... however I have to say I have never heard of this aircraft before... It looks very interesting. That is a very nice looking model you have built the photos really do it justice...well done.
Navy Bird
Nice work on an unusual subject! Didn't they find several of these aircraft in a sunken cargo ship recently? Cheers, Bill
JMChladek
So you could say the pilot "bombed" at bombing right? Nice looking model BTW.

Fuad
Nice work on an unusual subject! Didn't they find several of these aircraft in a sunken cargo ship recently? Cheers, Bill Aviation History magazine reported in the November 2008 issue that divers had found airplane parts in the Akibasan Maru wreck, a Japanese cargo ship sunk in the Kwajalein Atoll on 20 January 1944, and rediscovered in 1965. The parts (including wings and floats) have been finally identified (April 2008) as belonging to two E14Y1 "Glen" floatplanes, through the use of photographs from the wreck and comparisons with original technical drawings and a captured technical manual. That must be what I was remembering. Thanks for the extra information and the links - I wonder if the floatplanes were carried on the Akibasan Maru for defensive purposes, or if they were just being transported. stevehnz
Thats super job Fuad, really nice. I have this kit too, bought because these were supposedly the only Japanese aircraft to overfly New Zealand, but now I have the Mushroom book, it seems that maybe it was the earlier biplane that did the overfly?? I still like the model though & will build it to honour brave men, even if their politics were a bit dubious. Steve.

This "Glen" is the continuation of "biplane theme". It is hardly appropriate to talk about our political views, but in any case I can say, that the Japanese fought very bravely to the last drop of blood. Even as enemies - they were worthy of respect.
