The pure porn goes by the name "Britten".

Pure, hand-made madness!

Just a shame there doesn't seem to be a kitset of this (that I'm aware of).

There is one, hens teeth does not describe its availability. The moulds were also destroyed in a train accident , so find one get it and keep it!

Doubled vtrips post but the kit is real and can be found.

I had the great pleasure of escorting John Britten around for the day, during a race meeting somewhere in Wales, many years ago.

I true gent with an excellent sense of humour.

The bike was truly awesome.

RIP John...

I once attended a rally where a Britten appeared in temporary road going guise. (1987) The riders girlfriend was on a Bimota Tessi.

My ride at that time was a Moto Guzzi SP1000 which I would have loved to strip down to something more interesting.

or just build a retro custom like this XS650 or the KR200 behind.

However age and wobbly legs have me doing the milk, bread or more likely beer run on this 200w beauty.

Cheers chaps!

A shame that Tamiya didn't do a model too...

John Britten was a typical backyard genius. His machines have a cult following, even Guy Martin was salivating when he was allowed to do a few circuits on one.

The one bike I have always wanted to own, since I was a kid......but they were produced in such small numbers, I'm not even sure if any of the 'survivors' are genuine or replicas........so here from the catalogue, the 1925/26 500cc Sprint Sunbeam, good for close to 100mph if you were brave enough....and wealthy enough 100Gns was a colossal amount of money in '25.... .....and here's an action shot of a slightly earlier version with its designer on board, the legendary George Dance......
