Winenut
My 5 year old son Harry and I had some great fun putting together this Airfix kit his Nana and Grandad bought for him. Harry wants to put it in the local model show coming up in 2 weeks which we will go to in our home town of Adelaide, South Australia. With kids it's all about participation. We made the kit together as well as we could. We tried our best and had heaps of fun being together and learning together. We'll put it in the model show and then we'll go to the show and see all the really amazing and wonderful models people have made and entered. Then my boy will see his model in the same show and for me it will help show him that in this life you get a lot more out of it when you put all you can into it and just......have a go. She's a long way from perfect our little black Hawk but please enjoy our best effort. Cheers Thanks for looking. Cheers.
Shalako
Hi Winenut, First of all, my congrats for sharing such a wonderful hobby with your son. The model looks fantastic and I must admit that I thought it was an 1/48 Hawk!!! It is my belief that it can win a prize and/or a merit because it is well constructed/painted. Good luck and keep us updated ! Cheers Sernak

Winenut
Thanks for the encouragement guys. Harry is the "glue-man" and is very good at checking the instructions and telling me what we need to do!

Junker-junk
Awesome work winenut. I did something similar same hawk but in raf benevolant fund colours I did a red arrow by airfix and it was a very frustrating build but i enjoyed the hawk very easy fitting and a fun build But you and your son have done a brilliabt job
Winenut
thanks junker junk! The Airfix kit wasn't too bad and the box art had the shiny black version so that's what my boy wanted to make of course!!! I like the shape it's a nice little build and we're really happy with the end result. Thanks again
Leonl
Nice work, but a nicer back story. Good to share experiences. My son and I do some kits together, he's never feels constrained by the kit colous which leads to some...interesting paint schemes!!
