Jon Kunac-Tabinor
So - a slight change change of plan meant a mornings relaxing brush painting.... Why am I reminded of SAAB Viggens?..... Jonners
gingerbob
Jonners, I just received Robert's Spit XIX (Swedish) decal sheet, if you want to go with your gut! Shall we have a poetry contest using the words featured in your paint colour names? I was hoping you'd come around soon- I was beginning to suffer withdrawal symptoms again. bob
Viking
Good progress Jonners, I'm impressed that you could do all that with a brush. Have you decided on a particular aircraft yet? Won't be long before you get the wings on, looking forwatd to that! Cheers John
Jon Kunac-Tabinor
And thanks to an hour this morning. Shame most of it is going to get "lost" under a prussian blue semi transparent overcoat!! Jonners von Victory V

Cheers John Hi John - yes - settled on Option 5 from the Pheon set, with the blue & white diagonal bar of Schlasta 31B. Its late production with the late war Balkankreuz. Thanks for your comments - its more down to the ease with which Citadel acrylics brush paint when thinned with a little Quickshine. Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Right - oil wash over the fuselage to add a bit of depth & wear, then mask off the bits I need to keep unblued The Tamiya X22 gloss clear with a prussian blue tint added, thinned with Gunze self levelling thinner and built up Need to let it "develop" now to see if I want to go darker. kidcurrie42
Beautiful build so far, I may have to dig out my 1/72 Airfix kit and see what I can pull off using 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scale lozenge, I look forward to seeing more. Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Cheers Chaps. Im going to go darker on the overspray - the pic of this beast shows very little lozenge pattern visible, so I think another layer of "Prussian Goo" is called for, plus I think the feather onto the rear tail lozenges needs tightening up. Jon Kunac-Tabinor
And, at stumps today - we are here. Fuselage now darker, with tail area far more cleanly separated in terms of colour, with a subtle feather. White has been applied to rear of fin and rudder, and glossed. Heavens, I "might" just get some decals on now. Still need to do wings tho ...... Jonners

Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Very nice Jonners - will this have pride of place on Pheon's stall? HI mate - no 'cus Rowans been doing some kit sticking too, and his lot are all fighters - so as per with your average "crash landing, I had six on my tail, hero" from any age of aviation, they are all very very eye catching. Cant tell you any more as its super, shush, dont tell mum, secret. ( Well I could but then I'd have to super glue you to death) Cheers Jonners von Maman c'est le mot I can reveal however that his models have two wings.

nimrod54
That's looking great and I like the choice of paint colours particularly Deamonette Hide, it conjures up all sorts of nightmarish beasts.
Jon Kunac-Tabinor
So your idly sitting in your front study, just debating whether to start decalling, when.... .. CRASH!!!!! your top front window literally explodes in a shower of glass ( next doors kids playing foot yin street- against their mums orders). Fortunately you have the wooden blinds down, so they take most of the glass shard force, because you were sitting right in front of the window, so had the blinds been raised, the cut in your nose would have been the least of your worries. A close shave. Model is fine though - thats the main thing. Jonners von glazier It was a good shot mind you, alas he's Croatian, so no point calling Roy Hodgson
keefr22
Youch! But as long as the Hanover's OK....!! Dangerous things these footballs, glad you escaped any injury too! Col.
A fortunate escape Jonners. Glad to hear you're both alright and unscathed. Dare say we can't say the same for the kid once his mother catches him though
Jon Kunac-Tabinor
So - while the free "air con" is working in the study room Ive been doing a bit of decalling. Pheon's decals go down perfectly- as you'd expect, and so do the kit ones. ON the lower tailplane I've used the WnW lozenge- put down straight over bare plastic using QuickShine as a setting agent/adhesive. Works like a charm. Pics to follow once the Glazier has turned off said "free air con" Jonners, wearing a jumper
