1/72 Airfix Motorbike

Recommended Posts

Making this lovely little bike for a diorama, however I have gone to an effort to improve it.

http://www.britmodeller.net/reviews/airfix/72/resupply/1.jpg Original molding.

Seeing as the bike was so nice anyway I decided to go to town on it and scratch build some detail. As well as cut away all the extra plastic that doesn't need to be there and I improved the stand and mudguards. I also cut away the big ugly "springs" the airfix mold offered and scratch built my own.

Added paniers and a rear seat

I have to admit, Ive never seen an old recovery set in the plastic. *i am only 17 though*

I know this bike is a Norton 16h so Ive been building it with the help of a reference.

First few coats of paint, still a bit of touching up to do all before a heavy black wash then matt varnish...

Smashing work on a truly tiny subject! :coolio:

I reckon there may be an etch set on the cards for the Airfix Bomber Resupply Set.....If you look at the wheels of the motorbike on the box it has spokes. :nerd:

Thanks guys :)

The diorama its going in is fairly small, hence why i decided to detail the bike. Hopefully itll get a bit of notice in the diorama. I really hope theres a PE set for the spokes, i did consider spoking the thing but I thought better of it.
