Hi.

It's my first post here (well, i put one in "Welcome" section"). I'd like to present the build of T-55A. It's Tamiya model in 1/35 scale. I got it as a gift. I prefer WWII models, but i decided to have a go with this one.

There we go:

Looking good so far, and welcome to britmodeller.

What are you taking the pictures with as they look really clear?

For photos i use Nikon D70 with 24-120 mm F3.5-5,6 lens. I take pictures next to the window using only daylight. Then i process them in Lightroom. I did some presets for the models, so it's just a "click" job.

Here's some more pictures with progress...

t55--34_zps18b97dae.jpg

I started with fuel lines.

t55--36_zps56f536b8.jpg

t55--38_zpsc14a6f2c.jpg

and that's how they look.

t55--39_zps3cfb8e48.jpg

I also sprayed the primer. It's Surfacer 1200.

t55--41_zps841b6454.jpg

I did not covered the surface perfectly, but that's ok.

t55--42_zpsa3482c3c.jpg

And wheels.

That is it for now...

Thanks, Matt. I am also wondering how it will look when it's done. Unfortunately i had a little tendency to overdo weathering. But that was couple years ago. I hope it's gone. For weathering i will be using AK Interactive fluids etc. I've never used this brand before. I honestly can't wait to start :)

Hello, lads. Little progress:

t-55-43_zps61332bb4.jpg

I put a primer on a upper hull.

t-55-46_zps8537b9a6.jpg

t-55-45_zpsa83f691d.jpg

t-55-44_zpsf3fec618.jpg

t-55-47_zpsff37a986.jpg

And i put Pacras Flat Black with a tiny drop of grey for preshading. Unfortunately airbrush splashed paint a couple of times, which was not nice. You can see the effects on the front part of the upper hull. This will require a little work with sandpaper.

t-55-50_zps30c7f530.jpg

I also painted wheels with a little bit of invention :) My father works in metal industry and he has access to lathe machine. I asked him to do one thing, which was helpfull. It's a collet.

t-55-51_zps306eeb6b.jpg

I painted wheels black.

t-55-52_zps0a7af7b9.jpg

Then i put the collet on a wheel.

t-55-54_zpse348e68d.jpg

Paint yellow...

t-55-55_zps81bbf243.jpg

...aaaaand voila. Easy as hell.

This looking very life like already, and your choice of colour scheme gives plenty of options of weathering/condition.

Will it be damaged or an in service example?
