CarLos Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Very interesting! AZ is making bigger things in 1/72. Will they be the first to produce a long waited Ilyushin Il-14? Carlos
Radleigh Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Very interesting! AZ is making bigger things in 1/72. Will they be the first to produce a long waited Ilyushin Il-14? Carlos We can only HOPE! That would be great... Hopefully pick one of these Let 410's up at SMW.

Yes, we once released in AZmodel the vintage Turbolet by Gavia , but times are different and so now the molds for the new , shape and size correct Turbolet are in preparation. Later on there will also be a version of L-410A/M. Here I want to thank Firma49 for their help with 3D modelling. V.P. Edited January 10, 2024 by Homebee 2 1
CharlieGolf2009 Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 Finally some better quality L-410 in 1/72, that will most likely not cost a kidney on Evil Bay. 1
Homebee Posted February 12, 2024 Author Posted February 12, 2024 (edited) Source: https://www.modelarovo.cz/let-l-410uvp-turbolet-1-72-kp-kovozavody-prostejov/ Quote The brand new „Turbolet“ in 1/72 scale will soon fly… At the end of February/beginning of March the company KP- Kovozávody Prostějov has prepared a new kit LET L-410UVP Turbolet . The old model from Gavia (also once packed in AZmodel boxes) is really „old“, moreover the known shape and dimensional errors crippled it enough. Turbolet is a Czechoslovak classic and after some consideration we started to prepare a new model. New moulds are being finished and tested now, so we will try to have „a few“ premiere pieces of this new kit at the Malá Pardubická exhibition on 24.2.2024 in Pardubice. As a small taste we bring you previews of boxart for the first four boxes including L-420 , which is not yet available in model form. In the camouflages you can expect besides the obvious military „kafumlated“ CzAF, also markings for Pardubice CLV, OK-BYF Motokov, OK-SDA Air Ostrava, 2311 Slovak AF,2710 CzAF and others. Later we will add comparison of both kits, old Gavia and new model from KP. Homebee Posted February 16, 2024 Author Posted February 16, 2024 (edited) Quote And now finally to the February TOP news, which is the already announced L-410 Turbolet. We will release the first four boxes with different camouflages. Previews of the camouflages are below. Other versions – L-410FG – glass nose, Lithuanian L-410 with SLAR and others, will follow. We will show the first mouldings at the Little Pardubice show on 24.2.2024 in Pardubice, but the model will go on sale sometime in the following week. The exact date will be announced later. Cover masks will also be available for sale with the model. Box art & schemes - ref. KPM0435 - Let L-410UVP-E Turbolet https://www.kovozavody.cz/produkt/let-l-410uvp-e-turbolet/ - ref. Their kits are full of "shape and dimensional errors". Did someone say "Cessna"? To fix the kit errors, they have to make entirely new kits. A resin nose was made to fix the nose contour issues, which were the most immediately visible problem with the kits. However, the bigger problems came from Gavia trying to represent multiple L-410 variants from a common set of molds. There are quite few differences between L-410 variants that include: cabin window placement, windscreen size, main landing gear fairing design, wingspan, panel line detail and engine nacelle shape to name a few. I once considered buying a kit, but looking at it in the box in the shop, I was not convinced the scale was right. To my eyes, it looked rather overscale in some respects. 1

The release of the model was slightly delayed, it will go on sale the week of March 4. We will not be selling the L-410 Turbolet at the MALÁ PARDUBICKÁ event, we will only be showing these moldings and boxes. We apologize for the delay. V.P. Edited March 8, 2024 by Homebee 4 1

Dennis_C Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 I guess even Amodel can now produce a better L-410 kit with more sharp molding details, less flesh, and probably could better care about different variants. Hope they someday add this to their series of passenger aviation. 2 1
CharlieGolf2009 Posted February 24, 2024 Posted February 24, 2024 Comparing both moulds (AZ and Kovozavody's), we can clearly see the differences now: AZ/Gavia Kovozávody Prostejov I confess I was getting a bit confused because, at first glance, they both seemed very similar. However, it's now clear that the moulds were indeed improved and updated, shape-wise at least. 1 2

From what can be seen in the photos and from what Czech colleagues write, it seems that AZ/KP copied the Gavia and slightly corrected a few errors. The parts are of inferior quality because they are made in a hurry to get ahead of Eduard. The original Gavia moulds are in Eduard's possession and we will see what such Eduard will add to the model. The reissued SM.79 in 1/48 received not only PE parts, but also a lot of resin parts. It will certainly be more expensive, but by how much?
