snapper_city
Hi Guys Trying to decide which Ju-52 to get as I want to do a civil version. 1: The Airfix offering, can this be made into a civil version. No upper gun position etc. 2: The Italeri boxing, does it have the non-fairing on the undercarriage? Which is the better kit??? Cheers
CarLos
This is easy: of the two, Italeri is superior in every aspect. The Airfix kit is a very old one and I don't know how someone would choose it except for nostalgia reasons. However, I would recommend the heller kit; I made a Italeri/Heller comparison here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234911019-junkers-ju-523m-kit-comparison/ In any case, be prepared for some extra work... but with some time and skills of the average modeller everything can be done to make an accurate civil Ju 52. Cheers, Carlos
snapper_city
Thanks for the info Carlos, a very interesting read. One question: Does the Italeri kit have the option of naked undercarriage or just the fairing option as shown on the box?? Ivor Ramsden
The fairings are optional.
