Hi Everyone,

Well here it is. After more than a year spent on the back burner because of me being afraid of the camouflage painting, I have finally completed my Vulcan XH558 model.

My wife helped me do the camouflage painting. She did it completely freehand, without any masking method. She had never touched one of my models before but she did say that she enjoyed painting it, but wouldn't want to do the building.

Anyway onto the pictures.

Comments welcome.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice and help during the build of this project.

Cheers,

Rick

Good job - I can't even begin to imagine your patience to do the wrap-around scheme by hand! I think most people, i.e. me, balk at the idea and give it a white/grey underside :)

Nice model. All those who had hoped to see it fly yesterday at Shoreham had their hopes dashed though. It seems its sprung a fuel leak again in another fuel tank. So unlikely to see it any more this year.

Cracking job on the camo, I'll be honest - this kit terrifies me from what I've heard about it and it looks like you've tamed it nicely! :goodjob:

Thanks everyone, I was terrified with the idea of the camo on this kit, but luckily my wife was able to do it.

This kit looks great next to my Type 45 destroyer.
