Hi peeps

Revell recently released their advised tooling of their ju-88 in 1/32 as an A-4 version.

I know there is a African front version but there is also a version that was based in Leeuwarden in the Netherlands, I'm trying to find this aircraft online Junkers ju 88A-4 of 3. Ku/fl/gr. 506 Leeuwarden Netherlands 1942 and no luck

I was wondering if anyone had purchased this kit and has the instructions weather they could post a picture of the paint guide for that version for me to take a peek at, before I go out and spend the money.

Thanks in advance

The unit affiliation for the 1942 Leeuwarden-based aircraft is a misinterpretation but the aircraft codes are not.

In October 1941, the Stab and 1., 2., and 3. Staffeln of Küstenfliegergruppe (coastal flying group) 506 were disbanded and reformed almost immediately as the Stab, 1., 2., and 3. Staffeln of Kampfgruppe (bomber group)506.

It retained the S4 unit code after being reformed and the 3./KGr.506 were at Leeuwarden from February to June 1942 operating under the control of IX.Fliegerkorps and did have an 88 A-4 on strength at that time carrying the same codes as given for the aircraft depicted in the new Revell kit; these being S4+ML.

As a 3. Staffel aircraft the letter M in the code would have been either solid yellow or black, outlined in yellow (the Staffel colour). The Gruppe's Ju 88s wore the standard 70/71 upper surface splinter camouflage with 65 blue undersurfaces.
