roymattblack
Has anyone attempted this? I've just recieved the kit, courtesy of Rob on this forum, and I want to open the doors and boot. Has anyone here done this, or know of any forums/info of such a task? A bit of 'heads up' would help. Roy.
Séan Pádraig
At 1/12 scale it must be do-able but I haven't tried it, there are some automotive biased modelling forums like www.forum.spc.org.uk that might be worth a look.
roymattblack
I opened the doors out on my 1/8 Corvette Stingray, so I'm going to try it much the same way. I was hoping maybe someone here had tried... Thanks for the link though. Roy.
wagoneer
The usual method of scoring with the back of a blade works OK. Clean up the edges and if necessary sort any gaps out with a thin strip of plasticard. It's the done thing over here www.modelcarsmag.com Hinges from bent wire are popular too. The site's worth a look as there's plenty of action there. EDIT: For a lesson in how to cut stuff up and make hinges, take a look at this thread from the legendary Bill Geary http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61640&hl= Wag Edited August 21, 2013 by wagoneer
roymattblack
That's very similar to how I did my Corvette hinges and door-to-body trim. Many thanks for that link. Some interesting stuff there.
Russell Wood
Just finished one, but the body shell and internal parts are two separates, so would need a great deal of fiddling to get right, and scratching to get just so... I thought about doing it doors open, but then reaslised the gulf between my dreams and my skill would result in money down the drain Good luck mate

ocatlub
If you Google something like "opening model car doors" you should get up some tutorials on the methods used. Guy
