Injection moulded styrene figures have improved greatly over the years, although they can never outstrip a good quality, well moulded resin figure in terms of individuality and sheer level of detail. A good compromise, and a first step on the road to custom building your own figures from resin heads, hands and feet with armatures for the bodies, is to get some of these head sets and add them to stock styrene figures to give them a more unique look, and move away from the standard styrene "grim but expressionless" faces.

Heads Set (LF0111)
This set includes twelve heads on two casting blocks, all of which are attached by their necks. The necks are of course disposable if the need arises, or you can bury them in a hole in the receiving figure to improve the look further. There are different facial shapes, hairstyles and expressions from happy, through grim to a few that look like they might be dead or asleep. Hairstyles include bald, shaved, centre partings and side partings as well as swept back and plain messy. Casting is excellent and the hair texture nicely done. The facial types lend themselves to European figures and all of them are without hats or facial hair.

German Heads #2 WWII (LF0112)
This again includes twelve heads on two casting blocks, all of which are attached by their helmets this time for ease of removal and clean-up. Again, a range of expressions is featured, most have their helmets strapped on, while a few have them loose, and one is wearing a cold weather scarf around his neck and under his helmet. The helmets vary from bare metal to covered, with one fallschirmjager (paratrooper) close-fitting helmet, and three with goggles, that lend themselves to motorcycle or desert figures. Because they have been cast essentially upside-down, there are a few bubbles at the base of the necks, and one or two in the chins, where they have become lodged during casting. The necks are buried in the torso so they won't matter, but the chin bubbles will require a tiny bit of filler to make good. A small gripe that is easy to fix, but worth mentioning nonetheless.

Conclusion
Fantastic sculpted heads that will give your figures a new lease of life and individuality. A couple of bubbles to clean up, but otherwise excellent quality. Don't forget to wash them in warm water before use though, to remove any residual mould-release agent.

Highly recommended
