Looking for a new body, well Nikon Body....

Recommended Posts

Was going to get a D5100 after Christmas, but the prices went up £30-£40 for the body when I was ready to buy, so thought I'd wait and the D5200 body looked to be £499 at most places.

Then while browsing a week or so ago, I noticed that Amazon had the D5200 body at £399 inc VAT. I assumed it was an import, but the price breakdown showed UK VAT, the clincher, they state that I can claim the £50 cashback from Nikon UK & register for the second year warranty, so not an inmport. (I think amazons system ahad automatically re-priced the item to match Tesco, it went up to £425 and there is now no VAT, so looks like an import!)

That’s effectively £282.50 when I take VAT and the cashback off . This is the same as a D5100 is priced at with the supplier I was going to use .

Took a few days to arrive with free delivery, but is very nice, like the fold out screen, now learning to drive it. Really nice camera for the money. So many settings to play with !

Next target is the lens.......

Thanks for everyone's help,
