Airfix 1/48 Spitfire PR.XIX

Recommended Posts

I have this week finished two Spits in 1/48 and must admit that I'm pretty chuffed with the results!

This time it was Airfix' new tool PR.XIX

Very nice build! The PR Mk XIX represents, IMHV, the epitome of Spitfire elegance.

One nitpick, though: from the head-on photo, it seems to me that the mainwheels are too splayed (looking more like a Bf 109-style landing gear). Spitfire mainwheels are usually almost perpendicular to the ground.

Great work, all told!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Thanks Joachim.

I do not know what has happened with the airfix at that stage, because the landinggear was a very poor fit, and not very precise. I will try to see if I can get them straighter at another point, but totally know what you mean! Thanks for the kind and usable comment! ;)
