My contribution to this GB - Italeri's Carrier Deck Display....Along with a HobbyMaster (diecast) set of deck vehicles and an Italeri Phantom F-4S in the "Ferris Scheme"

Started the deck first -

Simply glued together - Very nice textured finish on the deck but the engineering is such that a square of deck has to be glued in place where presumably the injection stub (if that's the term?) had to be in order to get plastic to all four corners - I'm hoping that vanishes under the F-4!

The dark squiggles are where I've painted some thick citadel Codex Grey to represent repairs to the deck.

And it's finished....

Sort of - The Phantom isn't.

As I've been a bit lacking in updates on this one I'll summarise,

Deck painted (using a hairy stick) in Vallejo's take on FS36118 which I think is a dark sea green although it looks grey to me.

Added bonus of using hairy stick (Can't use airbrush in my newly painted house and new workshop not ready yet) is that there is an element of unevenness to the finish which seems to work quite well.

White bits in Tamiya or Vallejo gloss white, washes with citadel brown and black, humbrol clear and tamiya matt varnish following the application of decals.

Vehicle has had the oil paint dot effect added to try and weather it a bit along with some washes.

And this is where the Phantom has got to - I've removed the flaps and the leading edge slats to set them in the correct position for take off and pilot figures are being installed courtesy of Revell's NATO pilot set. Colour scheme will be the Heater-Ferris scheme but will have to wait for the painting facilities to be sorted.

I'll not bother uploading this to the gallery as It isn't completely complete,

Thanks for looking.

Looks great, pity you cannot finish the Phantom off in time but please post it on `Ready For Inspection' when it is done as I`d love to see it.

Good luck with building your new workshop,......lucky thing,.....I have a corner of the kitchen!

Cheers
