IXGR1
Here we go - After a minor (self imposed) speed bump, due to the GR-9's 'ownership' by the Fleet Air Arm. I have here the Revell 'boxing' of the Hasegawa ? GR-7 -whch I bought, not being able to resist the 41 Sqn decals. The Two Mikes , Leading Edge Root Extention A Pavla, Martin Baker mk-12 E'seat And the Aviation Workshop's, GR-9 anniversary decals and Brimstone Missiles This is my fourth Harrier, just hope I do it justice. SaintsPhil
Great choice, built this kit before? Are you sure about the brimstones, they were never cleared for the Harrier...
IXGR1
Thanks Arnold and Phil. I have not built the Revell vertion of this kit before, but believed it is VERY similar to other boxings that I have completed. Great choice, built this kit before? Are you sure about the brimstones, they were never cleared for the Harrier... "Harrierpilot Registered User Join Date Dec 2011 Posts 1 No.41 ® Squadron should have started flying with the radar version of the missile in early 2011 if the Harrier had not been chopped" -Yourr riight !, no loss I have plenty of time to think up some other ordinance........? Looks like a lucky GR4 will inherit the "not-a-helfire"s

IXGR1
After many a days wrestling with myself...... The new loadout is decided...... Wolfpack, Sniper XR pod -retreved from another kit (this GR-7 will now have a TIALD pod) L'Arsenal, Paveway iv's ordered Shaun's, DJRP pod 'under contract' ....searching for those Hasegawa LAU-28's I thought I'd never use. I know, fairly predictable but; project re-energised ! Anyway enough narssitic reflection, here's were I'm up to. After assembling the nose section, it was joined to the fuselage in this kits four point attachment way. Via a puzzle of the intake 'cheeks', nose section and cockpit's rear top plate. A bit of fun for a Tuesday nights shift.........! -I like the open frame of the blow-in doors. I'm now currently fiddling with the resin LERX Edited August 13, 2013 by IXGR1
IXGR1
OK....last few days have been on some solid construction. I had the Resin LERX in, but discovered ZD406 only has the 65% Extention; so the kit part is being used. -thats it for a couple of days, back at it on Wednesday. SaintsPhil
Those CRV pods look great mate, what did you make them from?
IXGR1
Thanks for asking Paul. The CRV pods are blunted or shaped (with a blade on a SLOW turning drill chuck) first 40mm a gbu-28 'bunkerbuster' bomb casing (obviously with the fins and seeker head removed). The first 7mm of the finn group's casing of the gbu-28, are used to form the end cone. I also trimmed/dressed the nose cone with a narrowstrip of pasticard. bigbadbadge
Looking good so far. I never liked doing the stores, so getting out the way early is a good idea. Keep up the good work All the bestChris
IXGR1
Nothing wrong with getting the stores out of the way! Where's the Therma pod from? Thanks for your comments guys,Phil - the Terma pod is scratch built from an Esci Harpoon missile - glad you recognised it ! ( I 'believe' Olimp Resin now do one, but as part of their GR-7/9 'Herrick' update set) Chris - I actually like doing the 'stores' as my modeling focus is probably more technical, my pet annoyance is undercarriage.....each to thier own ? Yes I'd seen the Olimp Therma, the set looks nice but a little steep in price, considering I only really need the Therma.... I agree about undercarriage by the way, they are my Achilles heel
