2wheels
Shouldn't be posting these (for legal reasons) But too good to not share. Came across these, while archive researching. Taken in Short Bros , very own model production facility circa December 1954. (or maybe its Santa's helpers!) The place made models for air show trade stands, wind tunnel use, and probably quite a few managers desks and mantle pieces. Both actual aircraft , and concept types. A nice large scale Sealand is visible, as is a Sherpa SB4 and an SB5. The unidentified flying boat in the foreground suggests even by the mid 50's Short Bros were still dabbling with numerous ideas. This shot shows the Seamew production line, and something bigger (and wooden) under construction. Note the Seamew moulds under the table. I'm guessing the finished examples were resin. And finally a model that I think from other images I've seen was used for trials in a water tank. A Shorts, jet Flying Boat! Tried to think of what It might eventually have been called...any suggestions?
Col.
That looks like what most of us would consider the ideal job.
