1989 MPC Darth Vader TIE Fighter

Recommended Posts

Hi Warren,

I finally got some time to crack on with this again this weekend. :)

Here is an update for you all. :)

I have put the clear matte coat on, got annoyed trying to clean the airbrush again ;), stuck on the final little detail parts and checked the lighting one last time. I just need to do a little dry brushing in the "enginey" parts and glue the wings on and then I can pretty much say this is complete minus a simple base (I'm thinking I will be needing 2 of your bases Warren, one for the X-wing and one for this! :)) I will PM you next week. :)

So anyway, with no further a due, here are the pics. :)

As always, comments and feedback very welcome.
Apologies for the quality of some of these pics, they were taken on my phone and they really don't show the subtle discolouration or pin wash particularly well. I need more practice with photography!
Cheers all!

Hi all,

So I finished the dry brushing and build this morning.

Just a base to set up for the lighting and I will have completed my first ever model kit! :)

I am pretty pleased with the results and learned some valuable lessons along the way, so hopefully I can take what I have learned and apply it to my other projects.

Things I am hoping to improve on in future builds are:

1.) Learn how to use filler properly

2.) My circuitry and electronics

3.) My build process (doing stuff in the wrong order)

4.) Airbrushing and applying primer

5.) Much more attention to detail.

6.) Photography

Here are some pics:

As usual, all your thoughts, comments and feedback are warmly received. :)
Cheers,
Rob

Thanks very much for the kind feedback Warren. :)

I am pretty happy with it, even with all the imperfections that I know are there.

Want to get it onto one of your base in the next 2 weeks and then I can put this on the shelf where it will sit with pride... until I finish the X-Wing! ;)

Cheers,

Rob
