ZM 1/32 He 219

Recommended Posts

I have the Schiffer and Kagero books and also looking at the pictures in the instructions. Not sure how accurate they are but it gives me a place to start from, I find myself spending more time painting than building. I am starting to get the skin on now and I am looking forward to getting it together. FYI If you get the barrel after market be careful the instructions are not clear. I ended up buttoning up the weapons bay due to how bad I messed it up trying to replce the barrels with aftermarket. I think the kit barrels are almost as good what a shame oh well. \

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any tips on the engine's front armour? I expect most pieces to fit very well, but they just seem to float around the location points. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong but I can't get a positive fit. How was it for you...?

Mike

Edit: so I found out... Just push a bit harder, then the aforementioned positive appears as if by magic!

I worked with mine for awhikle then suddenly after lots of dry fitting both fell into place. I think there is a small locator pin that is easy to miss.

I found the same thing with the armor fronts, did the double take and magnified the plans and little more pressure and some sanding and it pop into place, carry on and I am waiting for mag from japan, question what colour did u paint the wing frames..

Fully agree with you Sean1968. I very temped by the announced 1-48 Shinden. They really want to downscale it with only minor simplifications.

I suppose they will do so with the He 219 too. Yet while I think I will buy the 1:48 Shinden I think I am perfectly happy with my "simplified" Tamiya Uhu. Although a striped ZM Uhu would make a nice setting next to a fully dressed Tamiya one I suppose.

Impressive build Steve.

You are right: in his last blog the President of Zoukei-mura, Mr Shigeta, announced to do a 1/48 scale of the Heinkel He 219, too.

On colour and other references: I would suggest to get Zoukei-mura´s Concept Note book on the He 219. Worth every Euro spend! Full colour pictures with a detailled build report by ZM and other modellers. I have never before seen this many great shots of the He 219 under restoration in the States.
