Ok... For the three of you who didn't attend, I thought I'd share a few images from my roasty afternoon. :)

Lovely work johnathan, the first and last are particularly stunning. There's a wonderful amount if contrast in these shots, are you doing anything clever or just incredibly talented?

It was a great day Saturday, can't wait for three days at RIAT next weekend. It's been ages since I posted any pics on here. I may put some up but they won't compare to these.

Steve.

Ps meant to say I love the P-51 glare shot too.

Thank you Steve.

I think what we're talking about is a huge dose of good luck, a decent technique with the tiniest bit of talent sprinkled on top. :thumbsup2:

Although taking pictures is one of the things I do, just not usually of aircraft, which is just for fun. :)

I haven't been to RIAT for years, and not this year either (got roped into a Zombie event of all things! :zombie: ), so please share for those of us who aren't there. :speak_cool:

Lovely picture, wasn't there but out of interest did the heat noticeably affect the performance of any aircraft?

I have no idea TBH. It certainly effected me a bit and I was glad of the hat and the brolly. :crosseyed:

All I know is that I think all the aircraft that were scheduled to fly did in fact fly. :)

They are all excellent. But, my favorite is the fith one the Corsair. I bet there where a lot of very sunburnt faces at the end of the day.

Thanks. :)

And I bet there were a few, but up our end everyone was being horribly sensible. :coolio: Although my girlfriend did notice someone while she was on walkabout, who appeared to have fallen asleep in the sun, and their group of friends were having some difficulty rousing them and had called for medical assistance. :blink2:

Those shots are absoloutly STUNNING!!!!

thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much. :)

And if I didn't share them here, I'm not actually sure what I'd do with them after I shot them.

Really excellent shots, I love the depth and contrast and the amount of prop blur. Some of them look like you've been flying alongside.

Jeffrey

Thanks Jeffery.... And oh, I so wish I was flying alongside them (in a plane obviously :) )

Cracking stuff.

Of all of the beautiful imagery above, the inverted Corsair against the blue sky and clouds wins for me, followed closely by Yellow 06.

I was there on Saturday and found the lighting quite a challenge at times but you've done a superb job once again.

Thanks for sharing your pics.

Fab pictures. What lens and camera are you using? Some of those look as though you were in formation with the subject aircraft!!

Hi Roland. Thank you. :)

I was using a Canon 1D MKIII with a Canon 300 mm f2.8 IS mkI and a Canon 5D MKIII with a Canon 70-200 mm f2.8 IS mkII.
