Spookytooth
im brushing mate never had a problem before with tamiya could be mould release agent causing the problem..think from now on ill be washing the sprues or using primer before paint.. got the photos but having a little problem with flickr cant find the image tags to post the pics here.. The only problem I have had with brushing Tamiya paints is that it drys so quickly but saying that I have just got back into the hobby so am still learning, Will follow the build as I have to Lancs in the stash.

Spookytooth
did notice that is seems to dry quite quickly mate.. this is my first kit back in the hobby after a really long break Some people have said using a retardent helps the matter, cannot remember at the mo what it is called but someone will tell you. I have been using an airbrush now so it`s not so bad. Good luck Jaffa , I am looking forward to the finished build.
Winenut
I love it when a thread starts with something along the lines of ..."I hadn't made a model for 20 years" I feel right at home Keep up the good work on the Lanc. She's a biggen! Look forward to more progress....cheers!

Parabat
I watched a video on flory models of Phil's build of this kit. He had problems with the paint not sticking, and it turned out that this was a problem with the mould release agent on the plastic repelling the paint. He gave it a wash with warm water and a touch of washing up liquid, if my memory serves me correctly, and when dry the model took the paint much better. I've never come across this problem myself, but I'm reasonably inexperienced. Apparently this problem is very, very rare with mainstream kits, but isn't unheard of. I had the same problem (airbrushing) with the Shorts Tucano - I jacked on priming and the paint seemed to want to bead off! Back to the build though, it's good to see the progress and it's really beginning to get some character now.

jaffa
sorry for the lack of updates being mega busy with work and only getting a few hours at the weekend to get some more done but here is how she stands at the moment top side all painted retouched the exhausts and canopy framing painted.. couple of things ive noticed.....i need a bit more practice with canopy framing painting and my assembly procedure needs a few tweaks to make it easier to paint... all part of the relearning process i guess... JOCKNEY
Great stuff Jaffa Unusual colour scheme for the wingtips which I hadn't seen before, must build a lanc but like you only returning to the fold after a long absence. Unfortunately also like you I lost my own dad last weekend, so thoughts and prayers are with you and the family as I can appreciate the conflict of no more pain over the loss of the person.
