Hardtarget Posted July 6, 2013 Share Posted July 6, 2013 (edited) As title states, started this Thursday so thought id bring this to the party whils i do the final toushes on my tomcat. I shall be converting the tonka to a GR4 using Colin's conversion and the Combat Decals Libya sheet so this will be ZA542/021 of 31Sqd. Ive taken some pointers from MPaul's thread. This will be a speedy build so details are a bit thin but we've all built one of these before, havent we? Cockpit painted and assembled., gun port filled and sanded. Intakes assembled and cleaned up As was the exhausts. Tricky bit with the wings and the tabs that hold everthing in place. But managed to seal both halves with everything in place. Nose and intakes met the fuselage. The whole A/C got a good going over with WE MSG. Ready for those panels that have faded and assembly of the u/c next. Hardtarget Posted July 12, 2013 Author Share Posted July 12, 2013 (edited) Friday update from the weeks progress. Undercart SG in place along with the racks. She was then masked in the areas where the faded panels are located. The WEM MSG was lightened slightly with a bit of white then sprayed in the affected areas. Canopy affixed and also a few other smaller pieces. Radome sprayed DSG with Tamiya smoke in the exhaust back flow area. Ehxause sprayed with my mix of burnt iron and met cote steel.
