Finemolds 1/48 Sienar Fleet Systems Tie Fighter

Recommended Posts

Hey All, here is my recently finished Finemolds 1/48 Star Wars Tie Fighter I didn't do a build thread as this was my first proper build in a long time after my mojo went. The kit went together really well and the construction layout allowed for the main components to be painted separately then brought together right before the klear kote was applied. The decals settled down nicely with micro sol the only one that required some tamiya thinners was the red pentagon squadron markings.
I used a combination of Mig and AK products both filters and washes to weather the tie, the main objective that I wanted to do was to break up the overall grey and give a slight tonal variation. I built the base very very quickly and tried out AKs grey primer and their satin black which I need some more experimentation, I then loaded the brush with white paint and blasted it with my airbrush to create the star scape I may tone it down with some smoke in the future. I am having a base made for so I can mount it in flight if the guy who's building it for me gets it done wink wink.
I had no problems at all with this kit that weren't my own doing and if you have built other Finemolds kits this goes together like a dream. I am looking forward to Darths Tie which is being released in 1/72 next month and would really like to see the Tie Interceptor released in 1/48 to do up with the blood stripe markings of the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing.

I like it ^_^ I did a similar base on my FM 1:144 Millennium Falcon - you can see the pics in my signature link if you're interested :)

That is seriously nice.

Puts my 1/72 Tie Interceptor to shame.

I too cant wait for the Darth Vader one and would love them all in 1/48, even better in 1/32 :)

Still hankering for an A and B Wing though and some of the larger Empire and Rebel Capital Ships and Transports.

Have to agree Jase would be good to see some of the larger capital ships put out by Finemolds, I've seen a massive resin blockage runner but the cost put me off if a smaller decent injected one came out that would be cool. :coolio: I guess the only problem now is Disney have the rights it would depend on what sort of royalty they want for a license to release them now?
