llking
I finished this one last month and I'm just now getting around to posting it. The kit is the Tamiya 1/48 Beaufighter I added a True details cockpit and used Techmond decals and painted using Lifecolor paints.

Col.
While I normally think the Beaufighter looks somehow 'wrong' in US markings this one certainly looks great. What's the significance of the three colour rudder trim tab?

Floggerman
What's the significance of the three colour rudder trim tab? The 415. NFS was based at La Vailon, South France in late 1944. Maybe that's why the french flag. BTW: Any proof for the red cowlings?

JOCKNEY
You have done a fantastic job on the old "whispering death" although it does look weird without RAF markings. On the subject of which the old frog kit offered I believe Australian markings on the beaufighter which didn't personally appeal until I watched the following on YouTube see below; http://m.youtube.com/?reload=3&rdm=mokcsg152#/watch?v=psUvAUw37D8 My favourite bit is when someone claimed to have been shot at by a beau in error the pilots answer was it can't have been your still here ! Does anyone have more history on the yanks using the beaufighter ? Edited June 20, 2013 by JOCKNEY

pte1643
Does anyone have more history on the yanks using the beaufighter ? There's a chapter, "Star Crossed Beaus", in the Jerry Scutts (Crowood) book that goes into reasonable detail.

bryanm
Very nice! The June 2013 "Aeroplane Monthly" (Catalina on the cover) has an article on Morris Dalton, a USAAF Beau night fighter pilot. It's a great story with some really atmospheric b+w photos of Beaus in stars and bars.
Learstang
Being the odd duck that I am, I enjoy seeing British aeroplanes in American markings as much as the reverse. Very nice Beaufighter! Regards, Jason
