leader3
This is my latest ship build. HMS Richmond a type 23 frigate, The Trumpeter kit was intended to be built from the box. but unfortunately the photo-etched disintegrated when you looked to closely at it. this had to be replaced by the excellent WEM set for this model. never build a ship with out help from WEM. all the decals were home made to turn this into HMS Richmond. hope you like.

prowler0000
Very nice, Leader! Aside from the PE, was there any plastic cutting needed to convert her?

Phil
Looks fantastic. We had HMS Richmond exercising with us in the South China sea as part of Bersama Sheild 11. We had her Merlin come hover alongside to conduct a HIFR (Helicopter In Flight Refuelling, basically a refuel where the helo hovers alongside the ship while under way and winches up the fuel hose. Kind of like a RAS, but with a helicopter) and she was berthed at Sembawang just down from my ship, HMNZS Te Mana.

leader3
Thanks for the comments I really appreciate them Very nice, Leader! Aside from the PE, was there any plastic cutting needed to convert her? there was not mush alteration to the ship to create Richmond. obviously the numbers and names change, but the WEM set gives you the names for all of the type 23's.
AntPhillips
Lovely build, once I get my on-going Airfix Illustrious & Dragon off the bench, I have a Trumpy Montrose to follow, but will probably finish her as Monmouth as fitted for her recent Armilla Patrol. rich2010
there was not mush alteration to the ship to create Richmond. obviously the numbers and names change, but the WEM set gives you the names for all of the type 23's. Was going to get the WEM etch set myself. So it's got decals in it has it? Or just the name boards?Lovely finish by the way!
