Raystorm
Hi all, after seeing how cheap the Moebius Iron Man kits were on the Modelzone site, I got the Mark VI armour. Here are my build pics Box Shot DSCF0002 by raystorm_uk, on Flickr Sprues, not many parts DSCF0003 by raystorm_uk, on Flickr Complete! Only took an hour or so! DSCF0006 by raystorm_uk, on Flickr Next to be done is a bit of filling and seam sanding, and then a coat of black primer.
AndyC
Nice work - both my previous Moebius kits have been done in less than 30hrs...and this one's on the to-do list. Will be nice to see how you tackle the red/gold/silver...am watching!
Raystorm
So, gave the figure a base coat of Citadel Chaos Black from a rattle can tonight, and it now looks like this: DSCF0002 (2) by raystorm_uk, on Flickr I'll let it cure for 24 hours or so and then attack it with the airbrush when I get the chance! Raystorm
At the moment, Tamiya Titanium Gold which will be oversprayed with clear red. Might work, might go horribly wrong, so watch this space!
Breaker
At the moment, Tamiya Titanium Gold which will be oversprayed with clear red. Might work, might go horribly wrong, so watch this space! Try it with there silver colour. I did a test on his boot and to my eye it was spot on.
Raystorm
Tamiya Titanium Gold airbrushed on. It's bloody awful to spray, it really likes jamming the tip of my airbrush! DSCF0003 (2) by raystorm_uk, on Flickr
scorpiomikey
How are you going to light the arc reactor? Paint or some form of actual lighting?

Raystorm
Wasn't happy with the Titanium Gold, which looks more like silver! So, I've sprayed the gold areas with a coat of Clear Yellow, and it looks a lot better! DSCF0002 (3) by raystorm_uk, on Flickr
Raystorm
Got a coat of clear red on today. Think it'll need a few more yet to get the depth, and I've run out! DSCF0029 by raystorm_uk, on Flickr
Raystorm
I wasn't at all happy with the Titanium Gold and Clear Red finish, as the gold didn't go on at all smoothly. So, after a dip in a tub of Tesco's Value Cleaner and a quick respray of Chaos Black, Mr. Stark received a coat of Titanium Silver instead. This went on much nicer, leading to where I am now DSCF0003 (3) by raystorm_uk, on Flickr
Raystorm
Got a couple of coats of clear red on, and it looks a WHOLE lot better! DSCF0003 (4) by raystorm_uk, on Flickr
Raystorm
And it's complete! DSCF0004 by raystorm_uk, on Flickr DSCF0005 by raystorm_uk, on Flickr The gold is Citadel Auric Armour Gold, and my lovely wifey finished off the ARC reactor, repulsors and eyes, as he's going on display on her computer desk!

neron-fx
Nice work Raystorm. It was good to see all the steps you took with painting even if they didn't work out. Helps us newbies better understand your colour processes and what to look out for. Cheers!

Raystorm
That's some beautiful work. How did you mask off the arc reactor and such? Simple answer is, I didn't! The wifey hand painted them as I was making the kit for her
