PaulR
Evening all, have finally managed to get a classic airframes meteor F8 at a reasonable price, and have been looking at decal choices. I like the look of the pink tailed 245 sqn meteor (WL135) on the 1/48 xtradecal sheet -the one with the pink/blue fuselage checks and blue lightning tail marks. However, I have also seen this plane illustrated (ironically on the 1/72 xtradecal sheet, amongst others) that show it with a yellow tail, and yellow/blue checks. Anybody have any idea which is correct? Thanks in advance, Paul
stever219
I'd treat the pink with a degree of suspicion: I'm sure that I've seen a colour photo of one of 245's Meteors during the in-flight refuelling trials and the checks were blue and yellow. The caption says " This was the officer commanding's aircraft having special tail unit marking." I've never heard of it being pink with pink/blue checks? EDIT: here's the artwork for that sheet....looks like your decals have faded or something!!! Another EDIT: Dug the decals out of the stash and they are most certainly YELLOW & Blue.............
