DaveJL
Some brief progress this evening. Built up the .50.cal station on the tail ramp: This was an absolute bugger to get to sit right, the ammunition feed belt in particular! I also painted all the airframe details in preparation for glossing- antennae, radar, FLIR, refuelling probe details, lights, sensors etc: I didn't paint the inside of the engines as these will be covered with FOD blanks. The radar on the front was painted in Light Ghost Grey, as my references show this done in this way, but other pictures show it painted in gunship grey in line with the rest of the fuselage. I opted for the former as I think it breaks up the otherwise monotone paint. Gloss is now on and will be left to set overnight. Decals will be going on first thing in the morning, followed by the construction of the rast rope bracket and addition of the ramp etc. More to come. DaveJL
Spent a good few hours on this today and have managed to get it finished. Final product is here An enjoyable, if challenging build, but it was worth it as it's an absolute monster and compliments my Special Operations aircraft selection nicely. Thanks to all who commented/followed. Dave Edited September 1, 2013 by DaveJL
