HammerUK9
If they show the lift live, I'll DEFINITELY be listening to this... Tim Edited June 10, 2013 by HammerUK9

Filler
I guess I shouldn't have expected too much in the circumstances but looking at those pictures, it looks like the failure to be able to use the support cradle has cost them a bit. Looks like they've lost the ends of the wings and an engine in the lift. Maybe that scan image gave me a false hope that it was more intact when perhaps it never really was. Av8fan
A bit frustrated here. All I can find is this news story with a picture. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22846645 I have to figure out a way to watch Time Team, Digging for Britain, and Coast. All we have here is Kardashian garbage. Sorry for going off topic. Well done to the recovery crew.
bentwaters81tfw
Two year restoration? I think that's a bit optimistic. The Halifax looked a bit rough too. but at least that was in fresh water.

Yeah, I was hoping that she'd be a little more complete, too. Still, it could of been a lot worse. I had visions of the whole thing just collapsing in on itself. I wonder if they'll have a go at getting that engine.

Max Headroom
At least the world has 100% more of a Do-17 than it did an hour ago. Whole restorations have been stitched together with less. Trevor
HammerUK9
Mike, the BBC screwed us over. I only saw it on the SouthEast news, in two separate minute-long segments, alongside stories such as a car covered in velvet and a new film that has people from Kent in it. My letter of complaint will be written tomorrow. Rant over, and congratulations for everyone who worked so hard to bring it up!! Tim

gruffy
Well done! Is the dornier going to be completely restored or is it going to be exhibited as it is?
HammerUK9
According to one of Nick Higham's tweets, the intention is to treat it and clean it up a little, but display it as is. Tim

Indeed! It's been lay on its back in the English Channel for over seventy years. I doubt I'd look as good in similar circumstances.

mackem01
Speaking of the Do17 - did anyone see the white outline of it on the tarmac outside hangar 3 at Cosford on Sunday?
Black Knight
What, a white outline like wot u see in the 'murder mysteries'? Perhaps just a sizing line to see where and how everything will go when its off-loaded.[?]
