This is my 1/200th Dragon Vulcan B2 photos taken edited and uploaded with my iphone.
Painted with humbrol rattle cans and weathered with citadel nuln oil, a pencil, and some dark grey chalk.
Now the weather is getting better i will be giving each of these little 'ns its own place on here rather than the old group shot which didnt really have that good photos. hope you like her.

Cheers Rob

When I say "retro shots" I should explain that i have used an Iphone app called camera plus.

It is a nifty little app and has many effects for lighting and filters also ones that simulate old film and camera types.

These photos used the 70s filter. I thought it fitting to use a 70s Vulcan hold it up to the sky and then use the 70s filter to try and add some nostalgic charm to the photos. This also to avoid my usual photos featuring our shocking garden!

Cheers Rob

Great stuff Rob. Reminds me so much of the photos I was taking in the 70's with my first SLR camera, a Praktica Nova 1B I think that it cost me the princely sum of £40.

thanks very much mate These photos came as a result of the mrs falling asleep in the car. i didnt want to disturb her i had the vulcan to hand and the camera so i thought its time to have some fun snaping and experimenting with the camera.

Good job no one saw me or the guys with straight jackets would have come for me. its not every day you see a guy holding a little plane out the window in one hand with a phone in the other pointing at the sky while sat behind the wheel of the car with a woman asleep in the passenger seat.......

A photo of all that would have been even more fun god the site it must have been....

Rob,

Whoa...that looks real retro to ME.

They look AWESOME.

and the shot of it on the car's dash reminds ME of seeing a model of a Spitfire on a dashboard

last year attending the TELFORD Show..

It's looks great.

Well thanks very much that is a compliment for a mad man hanging out his car with a plastic triangle in his hands.

Funnily enough I saw a car with a spitfire blue tak'd to the dash last year in a car at the local webbs garden centre when I was buying yet more cans of humbrol. Wonder if its tha same dude

Cheers rob

Excellent images, Rob ! These look remarkably real and "vintage" ....... a great way to capture views of this Vulcan !

Mike

Thanks mike like you i often photoshop stuff using the excellent free programme called "Gimp"

but i thought i would hold it up to the sky to help me improve and there is just nothing that beats nature it does add more realism to the model except for the fact every shot has a bit of the model missing were im holding it.

This does however help the model look much bigger than it actually is. its not much bigger than a 1/72 spitfire mk1 but funnily enough these little vulcans look more real than the big ones when you hold them up to the sky as they are about the right scale to give the effect of distance when you see a real one fly.

at least i think that anyways.

cheers mike always a pleasure to get feedback from you

cheers Rob :)

Cheers Jim. I've just done some more this time a mix of holding it in the air and using gimp

I do appoligise for the photo heavy post here i guess i have got excited at finding a new technique that i think works better for making them look like they are flying.

For me this is just as much a part of the hobby. but i think shes worth it.

I have been inspired by the many modellers on here photoing on a senic plinth with a real scene in the distance its just amazing some of the models ive seen on here recently.

Also after going to cosford model show and meeting such amazing people off here and seeing such amazing model its fired my inspiration even more. there were a great many models that i really thought were so good it looks like the real thing shrunk down.

It was my first model show this plane was on display with others in the hall with the lincoln in. Cant wait to get to more shows hopefully telford this year.

cheers Rob

Great photos with LOL especially the wife falling asleep in the car...reminds me of somebody else!

Thanks very much Bri48 and yes its not the first time she has fell asleep. I think its was when we was at RIAT last year we arrived early. I walked off to the porta loo. i got back and she was asleep in the car mouth open. so i took some photos as people were walking past. Ill post them if i can find them.

Wont be posting the one from my recent build of B1 XA900 I was photoing the shot were XA900 and XH533 are nose to nose when she decided to pull a moony and i have this lovely shot of two white vulcans kissing with the mrs backside making a heart shape betwean them. and a pure accident.....

She would kill me if posted that and she would be wearing them as ear rings no doubt.......
