robvulcan Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) Here is yet another Vulcan this is a 1/200th Dragon Vulcan finished with humbrol rattle can matt white with brush painted black areas and metalic areas. Sealed in Klear and then weathered with a mix of pencil, dark grey chalk powder, and citadel nuln oil. Finished as XJ783 in later style anti flash white. The only mods to this one is the tail cone this one features the early b2 tail cone with smaller more rounded tip than later ECM with a bigger tip. Hope you like her Cheers for looking guys Edited May 24, 2013 by robvulcan 7

nimrod54 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hey Rob, these rascals are breeding. Seriously, that's three great builds., your white B2 looks brilliant. I built the Airfix kit many years ago but having seen these I wouldn't mind having a go at a smaller version 1
robvulcan Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 Hey Rob, these rascals are breeding. Seriously, that's three great builds., your white B2 looks brilliant. I built the Airfix kit many years ago but having seen these I wouldn't mind having a go at a smaller version thanks very much mate. there gorgeous little rascals i cant stop building them. here are some links to others you may not have seen. some deserve their own posts and havent got them yet and most of them better photos but the weather and light has been so rubbish recently. there is also a build thread thats still on going were i have converted some of them to b1 and b1a standard plus prototype and early straight wing on the way. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234930302-dragon-vulcan-pair-xh533-xl321-flash-white/ http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234936632-1st-one-finished-dragon-vulcan-b1a-2-b1-big-surgery-for-3-small-kits/ http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234937318-cosfords-vulcan-b1-xa900/ http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234936453-vx777-and-others-2013-so-far/ they are breeding indeed. im just building 2 more b2s and 2 more b1s. i hope you enjoy the reading. the pit road kit is also very good except i think the nose is a little too chubby and the cockpit a bit proud but its still awsome. this kit has its faults such as the wheels but as you can see there all flying so i solved that problem ahah. cheers mate Rob 1
Mike DeTorrice Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 A wonderful job on this version, Rob ! She looks really exceptional as done in the anti-flash white finish here and those are terrific results on the weathering and finish detailing. Mike
general melchett Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Great job Rob, nice weathering and finish as usual......good old rattle cans eh ! 1
robvulcan Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 Thanks mike and andy. I am pleased with the weathering it adds something to the mass if white. And yep them rattle cans are damn good stuff they help me out no end and are so good I still have not found real need to buy a conmpresor since the last one made a loud cough and came to a sudden end. I won't buy a cheepy one again!
dolphin38 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 That's a great Vulcan and the weathering brings it to life great job.
robvulcan Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 Cheers dolphin38 I try my best I just wish I could invent an anti gravity device with a force field wave propulsion generator to them so I could fly them at scale speed indoors or out now that would be fun!
canberra kid Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Are going to give it a rest at any time soon Rob? I'm running out of superlatives! Another top build. John 1
robvulcan Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Are going to give it a rest at any time soon Rob? I'm running out of superlatives! Another top build. John Not likely john its just too much fun nearing completion is XM606 of 101 SQN way behind that is XA897 or XA895 not decided yet. And VDF XL426 on the way too. I am however going to build something not vulcan related soon even a mad vulcanite needs diversity sometimes..... anyone know if i can get a kit of a cessna 152?
goose Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 great work on the kit and love the Photoshop, it looks realistic in flight 1

I know what you mean Rob, when I've done with the B.57 Anniversary I'll build something different just to give my head a rest! As for the 172, there is a kit, I built one a while ago but I can't remember who makes it I think it's a Japanese company but I couldn't swear to it. John
robvulcan Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) thanks john. i really want to find photos of g-bisb i used to take lessons in her at rotheram or shefield when i was a kid. she was a lovely little bird and i want to make a model of her. yes a change is as good as a rest as they say. even when your passionate about a particular type you do need a rest sometimes. i found some great photo links ill have to give you that i recon you might be interested in but you have probably seen them. of airshows in the 70s. 2 caught my eye a raf canberra with black and yellow stripes underbelly and an allover neon orange canberra with a german flag on the tail. Thats a very nice cessna Btw Edited May 23, 2013 by robvulcan
