Paul A H
Stencil Decals for MiG-21MF and MiG-21SMT 1:72 Eduard Eduard are already renowned for their unrivalled range of photo etched detail sets and their growing range of high quality resin accessories. Less well known is their fledgling decal printing business. That will surely change over time, however, provided that they continue to release impressive sets such as these stencils for the MiG-21. There are two sets available, covering the MiG-21MF and the MiG-21 SMT. Eduard produce neither kit in 1:72 scale, but have presumably taken the decision to produce these sheets having completed the research for their 1:48 kits. The sheets are incredibly comprehensive and include not just stencils for the airframe, but also for various pylons, missile launch rails, fuel tanks, RS-2US, R-3S, R-3R, R-13 and R-60 air-to-air missiles, S-24, UB-16 and UB-32 rockets and FAB 100 and FAB 250 bombs.Mig-21 MF Stencils Mig-21 SMT Stencils Conclusion Both sheets have been printed in the Czech Republic by Eduard themselves. The sheet is nicely printed, details are crisp and clear and colours look good. If you have a MiG-21MF or SMT laying around waiting for you to build it, then this sheet will provide you with a superb finishing touch. The decals look good on the sheet, and hopefully they will perform well too. Recommended.Review sample courtesy of

Giorgio N
Very interesting product, more so as many kits of russian subject only offer a very limited amount of stencils. How many aircrafts are covered in a single sheet ? One only or more ?
Dazey
Sorry to revive an old thread but just stubbed across this in research for my Mig-21: On 14 May 2013 at 0:50 AM, Giorgio N said: Very interesting product, more so as many kits of russian subject only offer a very limited amount of stencils. In answer to Giorgio, I think the stencil set can do three aircraft (although I'm unsure of how many would be appropriate for different Mig-21 variants). That said, I think that there are six sets of most airframe stencils (three for camouflaged and three for NMF aircraft). This is from the Eduard instructions: "Red and blue stencils for camouflaged aircraft, black and red for grey or natural metal aircraft." Nice, high-res scans in the review, by the way. More helpful than most (i.e. it was helpful). Regards, David Edited March 11, 2017 by Dazey noticed a typo
