Here are some untouched, fluff and all slide scans taken by my Grandfather. The box they were in said Brawdy Air Display 1966. Beyond that I know nothing else. Apparently I met him once when I was about 2 so never knew he had an interest in aircraft

When I have time i'll sit and retouch some to remove the fluff.

Cheers

Aaah ...

Interesting how that Vulcan must be fairly newly painted in camouflage colours, and yet is already going matt with very noticeable staining around panel lines and under the windscreen.

Thank you so much for sharing these. I remember the good old days of airshows when there was more variety of aircraft and many more colours than grey. Love the shot of the Arrows in the Gnat, that was always a beautiful display aircraft and as a kid I was convinced that moving to the Hawk would be a disaster - boy was I wrong!

RAF Brawdy was a dispersal airfield for the Vulcans from the Waddington wing, usually deployed in pairs. There was probably a second Vulcan there somewhere that day. The photos are total nostagia. great to see.
