bruce3371
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but since the models are all HO scale, and I couldn't find any other, more suitable place to put them, I figured this was as good a place as any. (Admin, feel free to move this to a more appropriate place if necessary)About 15 or so years ago, I 'inherited' some Faller HO scale fairground rides from my sister who had started them, but then lost interest. I had them set up, but then a disaster happened and most of the rides got badly damaged. I recently dug them out of the box they were all stored (not too safely I must confess) and repaired them all.I'll be putting them on 3, modular baseboards, which can be stacked when they need to be put out of the way. I'll also bee adding more rides, and adding scenery to the boards as times goes by.Anyway, enough preamble, on to the pictures! The last 5 pictures show the work done on the baseboards and wiring.I'll post more pictures as I progress
bigh827
This is the right spot. Nice work. They make a lighting system for the fairs-wheel(sp), that is some thing to, and they made a working model of a mouse trap ride a few years ago. Most of the rides and designed to be fitted with motors so they work. If you get all the pries booths, food stands and ticket booths, you would have a very large yet tiny fair. bruce3371
All the rides are motorised and lit up, apart from the Ferris Wheel, which at the moment is only lit up. I've ordered the motor for it but I'm still waiting for Gaugemaster to get some more stock in. I also need to buy the rest of the wood needed to finish off the modular baseboards. Once that's done, we (my sister and I) can start painting and preparing the baseboards ready for the rides to be installed. I deliberately designed the baseboards to be bigger than we currently need, so that we can add more rides and attractions as and when our finances allow us to... bigh827
That will be some thing to see when done, as they make a lot of stuff for this fair. Keep up the great work.
bruce3371
I've more or less finished setting up the existing rides on the basebords now. All the rides are wired in and fully functioning. The boards are all built and painted, and even have dust covers for when they're stacked as well as when they're setup. The 'Sportshow' has a pair of speakers hidden inside it, and once I've downloaded a suitable soundtrack, will be plugged into a CD player, or MP3 player, for extra atmosphere!Over time, my sister and I will be adding more rides and concession stands, as well as people and scenery. Here's some more pictures; Edited June 5, 2013 by bruce3371

bruce3371
I've just added the Faller Coffee Cups ride to the fairground. This is one of the better known rides but had been discontinued for a while. They released it this year as a one off, and I was lucky enough to be able to buy it on ebay, before it was discontinued again, and the price shot up!Anyway, here's some new pictures of the Fairground, with the Coffee Cups ride installed;
