MIG-23 Polish colours

Got a hold of the 1/48 Trumpeter MIG-23MF the other day and it's going to the top of the build pile. The paint guide for the Polish camo talks about mixing trainer yellow (no manufacturer listed) and green (Mr Color H303) for the lighter green colour in the camo and mixing white (H11) and light blue (H67) for the undersurface colour.

Can anyone suggest suitable acyrilic paints for these colours without having to mix.

The other greens suggested for the camo are RLM70 Black Green and RLM82 Light Green, is this correct?

Any help appreciated.

Haven't seen this 1/48 Trump, but the colours proposed by the mnfr are far from reality. While undersurface blue is really very pale, no MiG-23 in Poland sported uppersurface camo pattern of THREE greens. At least one of the colurs is brown (more chestnut than earth to be honest).

On Monday I'll have the opportunity to examine the museum sample against the FS colour charts, so you just have to wait some 48h.

Thanks for the replies gents. The examples in both your links are certainly the schemes I was thinking of with sandy brown colour. Homebee, just ordered that book from amazon, thanks for the suggestion.

Floggerman, that's the very option in the kit that I was going to build! Really think from looking at the photo of the non operational preserved aircraft that the colours have somehow become darker and not a true representation of an operational Flogger!

The 23MF displayed at the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow is actually the first one to bear Polish insignia. S/n 0390217120 left the factory on 25th Feb 79, was taken on strength by PAF 28th Regiment at Slupsk on 4th Jun same year and struck off strength (same unit) on 19th Oct 96. Until Nov 88 the plane sported Bluish Grey FS 36329 (according to the '94 FS595B fan deck) overall. Some areas painted with this colour can be found still (EG the leading edge of wing movable part close to the glovebox).

After the 1988 overhaul the camo worn consists of Olive Green FS 34098, Khaki Drill FS 34255 and Maroon FS 30206 with undersurfaces of Pale Blue FS 37877. The dielectric panel at fin top and the nose cap are painted Light Grey FS 36628.

As I don't use acrylic paints (being used to the Humbrol enamels for last 45 years) there's time to SB else to complete the answer :)

BTW not all PAF Floggers sported the same camo - examples are known of a/c featuring FOURTH uppersurface colour (Light Sand).
