Col.
Lovely job & unrecognisable from its Airfix starting point. A real head-turner.
JosephLalor
Splendid work. I put that kit together straight from the box in the early 1970s, so I can appreciate how much work has gone into that model. Troy Smith
That scrubbed up really well, and you have done a great job on the camo colours as well. Going to do the Pe-2 next cheers T

Gaia1984
Amazing job Adrian! I'm also have a half-built yak-9D old issue. Quick question what's the diameter of the rods you used for the exhaust? I wanted to try to do something similar. Thanks!

AdrianMF
Amazing job Adrian! I'm also have a half-built yak-9D old issue. Quick question what's the diameter of the rods you used for the exhaust? I wanted to try to do something similar. Thanks! Sadly, the rods were 1/8" evergreen plastic tubes, stretched out over a candle! I did it that way because the larger rod has a low wall:hole ratio, and I can't get on with bending brass tubing. It might be less stressful, given that you have to bend them all, to choose a 1.5-2mm plastic rod, do the bending and bore the ends out by twiddling a pointy scalpel blade in it. Learstang
Now this kit would be a nice one for Airfix to do a new-mould of, along with the Pe-2, and especially the Il-2. Once again, great job on the Yak, Adrian; it's hard to believe it's the old Airfix kit! Did you every tackle the Pe-2 (I know you did the Il-2 - amazing job, there!)?
