Tamiya's Flying tank!

Recommended Posts

Well i havent done a WIP for ages so i thought i would give it a go again. My Wife bought me this wheil we were on Holiday at my Parents in Devon. Actually we got it for a good price.Ive been wanting to build a Sturmovik for ages and i had been looking at the Hobbyboss 1/32 one. Im glad she bought me the Tamiya 1/48 one. I was blown away when i opened the box. Amazing molding , beautiful surfaces , great decals and even canopy masks! Fantastic!

Work starts in the cockpit and as you would expect from Tamiya it litterally falls together. I have painted it RLM Grey and dry brushed with a lighter shade. The decals for the instruments settled down perfectly with some Klear.

The front and rear interiors slide in from underneath so the fuselage can be assembled. The front intake and parts all fit perfectly. NO filler anywhere yet

Its pronounced with the "sh" sound.... according to Peter Yustenov narrating the "Wings of The Red Star" series. (Roll the "R" if you can).
