AndyC
Hi all My latest finish is the 1/48 Roden AU-23A Peacemaker, a sort of mean-looking Turbo Porter. Russ C did a US machine a few weeks ago on here and I chose to do a Thai AF one. I used a Quickboost resin exhaust and prop. Quite a challenge to build with some delicate bits and I didn't like the Roden plastic. Masking nearly drove me potty but I'm quite pleased with the outcome and she can sit next to my Sandy in similar colours. I diodn't install the external weapons as I couldn't find any photos of Thai a/c with them fitted. I've noticed that I haven't fitted the shackles to the pylons and will put that right. I also broke the ammo belt, so the gun has no shells at the moment! Tape belts to the seats. Finished in Xtracrylix paints. The whip aerial is a whisker from one of my cats (I didn't actually pull it out, cat lovers!) Thanks for looking

raguk
Nice! Any pointers to watch during the build, I have one to do. RG
AndyC
Hi RG I am sure Russ C will confirm the same... Wing fit is difficult as the locators are tiny and the strut needs to be fitted at the same time (3 hands needed!) The plastic is really strange - very grainy and could do with a rub down all over The first job is to drill loads of holes which is quite annoying The bottom of the fuselage is a separate piece - tricky to get in. Seats are very delicate Decals are a bit dodgy I used resin prop and exhaust because I didn't like the look of Roden's items. Otherwise its an unusual subject and looks good on the shelf! Enjoy! MikeC
That is nice! .... I also broke the ammo belt, so the gun has no shells at the moment! Gun unloaded is probably a more accurate depiction of a parked aircraft. Edited April 28, 2013 by MikeC

TCinLA
I'm certain that airplane flies because the earth repels it. Very nice work on it, but how did you look at it to finish it?
tank152
Well it was certainly at the back of the queue when looks were given out! Nice neat work though Andy. Tim.
AndyC
Thanks TC and Tim! I dunno...functional if not beautiful...I've been a bit of a fan of these since Air America (land anywhere, on a penny) especially when they land one on an uphill runway on the side of a hill. Those planes were Thai AF.
