Hi All

I have just completed this 1/72nd scale RB-50G. This is completely out of the box, the only additions being glue and paint.

This is the first of the B-29 B-50 family I have done which had guns fitted.

This is not my finest hour, not happy with the finish, and had a disaster with matt varnish, but decided to leave as is as it makes it look like it's just dried out after a rainstorm (British airshow appearance?) Finished just in time for Perth.

On to the pictures, comments and critisms are welcomed.

Many thanks for looking.

Maybe see you at Perth (I'm the F-4 Phantom SIG)

Very nice. Are you in Aberdeen? The architecture looks familiar to me...

Thanks for all the kind comments, they are much appreciated.

I'm not in Aberdeen, actually in Dumbarton, same old stone though.

Nice job Ted. I built the B-50D version when it came out back in the 90s, and its a good- looking model when built up, but fit problems and the sheer size of the thing bring on their own set of challenges.

If you build another, by all means try to get the Ginter book on the B-50. Easily the best book ever written on the plane (largely helped by the fact its the only book ever written on the plane), but filled with all sorts of great photos, detail pics, plus a good narrative tracing the history of the plane. Typesetting and layout is, IMHO better than average for a Ginter book, too.

Cheers,

david
