My name is Cezary and I am a modeler from Poland. I would like to build a diorama with 1/48 Sea Harrier FRS 1 parked on a deck of the Royal Navy's aircraft carrier during the Falklands War era. I am looking for pictures or blueprints of any deck section where Sea Harriers were parked, showing the exact location of tie-down points and any information regarding distances between these points. All the pictures that I managed to find are showing the decks with an angle what makes estimating
I recently visited HMS Illustrious whilst she was in Liverpool and I vaguely remember that the tie-downs were 'randomly' ordered. That doesn't make sense I know, in that there weren't all exactly 1.5m apart in every direction for example. But I reckoned that they were specifically arranged for aircraft type.
If you look at the lower image of the Jungly, you'll see the tie-downs around the tail wheels stop aft of the last set, but are set inboard and outboard of the ones used.
