Gary West
Once upon a time there was an old Phantom built many moons ago, just collecting dust up in the loft Out came the stripper, drill, sharp knife etc Had quite a bit of repair work to do and re scribed where needed. Made the necessary changes to switch her from a M to a K and here she is as XT857 of 111 Sqn and finished. Not evident from these images (unless you save and zoom in) are slatted stabs, nose wheel door etc unique to the K model. Dermo245
Wish my 'regular' builds were as good as this re-build! What did you use for stripping? (if that's not a personal question) Dermot
bunnylurve
Mate she looks looovely! Hat's off for having the balls to re-do what, like others have said, looked a really nice model. What did you use to strip it?
Gary West
Thanks for the cooments guys - if you#ve never reclaimed a kit before, I highly recommend giving it a go. nice rebuild 72nd or 48th Glenn..... Hasegawa 48th Wish my 'regular' builds were as good as this re-build! What did you use for stripping? (if that's not a personal question) Dermot I use Oven cleaner personally - Mr Muscle in this particular case. One tip here though - dont let the Mrs see it or she'll ask you why you never clean the oven!
Bri48
Two good looking Phantoms there. "Treble One" is a masterpiece, however I'm not sure about the position of the lightning flash under the canopy. I've looked at numerous photos of these aircraft and the flash always appears to be more towards horizontal but your models flash position seems more vertical. Was the position of the flash unique to this particular aircraft? Brian.

No not unique but earlier Camo F4's appear to have had larger and slightly different angled (probably because of the size) flashes - I may have over egged mine a bit too - I give you exhibit A
