Val
Hi all, I am currently Airfix's BF110C-2/C-4, and due to an accident with the carpet monster/the cat/my foot, the rear machine gun has fallen in half.... I tried gluing it back together, but have had no success as the barrel is really too thin. Soooooo, I need to replace said gun with a replacement brass or resin one. Now, am I right in thinking the rear machine gun is an MG.15? If so, is this item or similar correct?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-World-1-72-Brass-7221-MG-15-machine-gun-/230910632896 It seems to have a few more (getting technical now) lumps and bits on it compared to the Airfix one, although I am aware the Airfix kit, nice as it is in it's own little way, is not the last word on accuracy! Thanks for your help, Val
Chuck1945
That is the correct gun for your 110 and would be a definite improvement on the kit part. However as fitted in the 110, the ball like container under the gun was replaced with a hose/tube/chute (not sure just what to call it that dumped empty casings in a storage box on the starboard side (facing the front) of the gunners compartment. These http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/QB72054 from Quickboost may also work and are less costly. The magazine is omitted, but that would not be unusual if the aircraft was parked on the ground.
