richellis
Porsche 911 Carerra 2.7RS '1974 Safari rally' 1:24 decals from Reji The 911 Carerra 2.7RS is said by some to be the best 911s of all time, the RS stands for Rennsport in German, or translated to race sport in English. The 911 RS was raced in the 1974 Safari Rally that took place between the 11th, and the 15th April 1974 in Kenya. The car that took part was a 1973 model (previously in a Yellow ‘Bosch’ sponsor livery) and it had a rear mounted 2.7l air cooled engine. The car depicted in this sheet from Reji came 2nd, and was driven by Bjorn Waldegård with Hans Thorszelius as his co-driver. The car was in first place until the rear suspension collapsed on the last leg of the event. The car is now preserved by a couple in Stuttgart and still takes part in historic events. Reji recommend the Fujimi 911 (12152) as a base for this build. The decals are screen printed and the detail is very nice, with some very small writing on some of the logos being readable with my eyes. The decals come over 2 small sheets that are packed with decals. The decals are numbered and this is referenced on the colour instruction sheet. You will need to paint the car body white before applying the decals, most of the fit to the outside of the car but there are 3 dial decals to fix to the dashboard to show the extra dials carried by this car over the rally. You will need to carefully mask and paint a clear green to the top of the windscreen for the sun strip on the 1:1 car before adding the Porsche logo decal. Conclusion A nice set of high quality decals from Reji for a classic rally car. Review sample from
