Dazzio
Hello all, I started this build as a quick and easy thing to pass the time while I wait for paint/stuff to dry on either the Mustangs or the F-15. I thought it would be a quick build, how wrong was I?? Where I am after two hours work on/off. Was trying to make the name plate look like it was written in weathered stone. Was only testing my drybrushing tho. I decided to close the undercarriage as well as I thought it looked silly otherwise. Im not planning on seeing the bottom anyhow so I am not bothered if it's not perfect. Thanks for looking! Kind Regards, Dazz
BelugaBoss
The fit looks pretty great, and the nameplate does the good. The dry brushing does wonders! -Nick
Antony Robertson
These Micro Wings seem very popular in this GB, this one looks great so far, looking forward to seeing it finished. Antony
MPaul
Looking sweet Dazz! I wish I had thought of doing that with my Hawker Typhoon, rather than doing wheels down. Although I think once I have moved house, and it goes in a display stand, i may display it on its wheels rather than on the stand the kit comes with. Look forward to seeing the end results. Dazzio
BelgaBoss, the fit isn't that great tbh, just lots of tidying up and sanding got it that far. Oh and Tippex. apart from that, it's not too bad really. Antony, I had bought this one ages ago and was originally planning of making some diaroma from it. But got bored of it. These little kits are fun little things, I can see why they are popular. Still gonna do my Gundams tho MPaul, cheers dude. I decided not to have the gear down as its abysmal, then again it is from the 70's I think. So I can't really complain, I'm sure if you put the work into it, it can turn out as a fantastic model. Stumped of lack of paints now... Oops.. :/ Thank you for the kind words all Kind Regards Dazz
Antony Robertson
I'm looking forward to seeing the Gundams, I know nothing about them at all. Antony Edited March 4, 2013 by Antony Robertson
depressed lemur
I am making the Typhoon from the same stable at the moment, and apart from the shorter cannon stubs looks remarkebly similar . I can understand what you mean about filler though, it seems to take a fair bit considering the size. BTW, I think I may have to plagarise your idea for the nameplate, as credit where it's due, your idea looks fab.
Dazzio
I'm looking forward to seeing the Gundams, I know nothing about them at all I haven't forgotten them at all, I've got two weeks off work from next Monday so am planing on getting some major modelling done. I havent decided if I want to make the models as is, or paint them with lots of stencils or even add some lights to them. Ill put a little backstory in it for you to Anthony. I guess it's just easier for Revell to market them as such, will be watching yours tho I thought using Tippex as a filler would be a good idea, as I thought it would leak into all the nooks and crannys. Didn't realise how many nooks and crannys there actually was tho, the wheel wells are the worse for obvious reasons. Oh, you can plagiarise all you want, lemur. I take it as a compliment. Antony Robertson
Thanks for putting the backstory in, still don't know what they are. Are they manga type things? Antony
Dazzio
Thanks for putting the backstory in, still don't know what they are. Are they manga type things? Yes mate they are, but a little bit of clarification is needed first. The word "Manga" actually refers to a graphic novel, think comic but like a proper book. If you are ever in Waterstones, you'll see the kind I mean. Then you have Anime which is Japanese Animation (think the word is actually French), this can include stuff like Pokemon, Transformers, Macross, Sailor Moon, and of course the Gundam franchise. NEVER say to an Anime fan "it's all Hentai..." That's like me saying that Corrie/Match of The Day are nothing but porn with school kids in... When you put it that way, you realise how silly that comment actually is, not to mention wrong on a few levels!!! The confusion arises in this country because there is a company called "Manga Entrrtainment" who release Anime, hence everyone thinks its called "Manga". That's basically it in a nut shell... Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Ill try my best to answer them. Kind Regards Dazz
